NCB's Deputy Director General (DDG), Sanjay Kumar Singh, who led the Special Investigation Team (SIT) giving actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan a clean chit in the cruise drug case, has opted for Voluntary Retirement Service (VRS). Interestingly, Singh opted VRS, just 8 months before his official retirement in January 2025.

The 1996 batch IPS officer from the Odisha cadre is currently the Deputy Director General (DDG) of the NCB.

In a twist to the Sameer Wankhede case, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has shifted out the officer who was heading the special enquiry team (SET) and appointed a new central vigilance officer (CVO).

The Bombay High Court directed the NCB to submit the material collected by it in the preliminary inquiry initiated against Samee Wankhede

On Thursday, the bench, after perusing the plea copy, noted that Wankhede had approached the Central Administrative Tribunal, too, against the notices issued to him by the NCB.

It also asked NCB as to what steps it has taken so far to collect material evidence after complaints were filed.
