Image Source: IANS News Mumbai, Jan 15 : In another major haul within a week, Mumbai Police seized over 345 kg marijuana or ganja valued at around Rs 52 million, officials said here on Friday. Following a tip-off regarding a huge consignment of contraband hidden in a building in Sangharsh Nagar, a Chandivali suburb in north-east Mumbai, a team of Saki Naka police station raided the premises, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 10) Maheshwar Reddy said. The ganja was found hidden in a small flat in building no. 10 in the Slum Redevelopment Authority complex.

NCP spokesperson and Maharashtra’s minority affairs and skill development minister Nawab Malik MUMBAI: In ongoing probes into a drug bust involving a British national, the NCB on Wednesday arrested Sameer Khan, son-in-law of NCP spokesperson and Maharashtra’s minority affairs and skill development minister Nawab Malik. NCB officials said Khan was a drug abuser and had also invested amounts running into lakhs in arrested British national Karan Sajani’s drug trafficking business. NCB said it has found digital evidence linking the duo. Khan has been booked under NDPS Act for financing, illicit traffic and harbouring offenders, which attracts a punishment of 10-20 years rigorous imprisonment and up to Rs 2 lakh fine. The arrest came after an eight-hour interrogation. Khan, a resident of Bandra west, runs a salon in the same suburb and dabbles in sales of gym equipment and real estate.

Multiple teams of the NCB are conducting raids in Mumbai since last night. In a tweet on Thursday, Malik said, Nobody is above the law and it should be applied without any discrimination. Law will take its due course and justice will prevail. I respect and have immense faith in our judiciary.
