Sedalia Woman Killed in Head-on Collision in Pettis County
A Sedalia woman was killed and two others injured in a three-vehicle accident that occurred Saturday evening in Pettis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 1990 Ford, driven by a 16-year-old male juvenile from Sedalia, was traveling behind a westbound 2013 Toyota, driven by a 16-year-old juvenile from Sedalia, when the Toyota slowed down to yield to an oncoming eastbound 2007 Saturn, driven by 33-year-old Christina M. Rice of Sedalia, at a narrow bridge on 32nd Street, one-third mile east of Rissler Road, just before 6 p.m. The Ford attempted to avoid the Toyota and swerved into the oncoming lane, striking the Toyota on the driver s side and striking the Saturn head-on. The Saturn traveled off the roadway and struck a ditch. The Ford overturned, coming to rest in the roadway on its wheels.

Last Thursday afternoon, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of East 3rd Street and South Lafayette Avenue, due to the vehicle having expired license plates that did not match the vehicle it was on. In the course of the stop, Officers were advised by Dispatch that the driver had a revoked license. Melissa L. Dorsey, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released for Driving While Revoked.
Sunday evening, Officers were dispatched to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, for an accident report. Lewis L. Jackson reported that the suspect vehicle backed into his vehicle three times before leaving the scene.
Deepwater Man Killed in Head-on Crash in Benton County
A Deepwater man was killed in a three-vehicle accident that occurred Sunday afternoon in Benton County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2009 Chrysler Town & Country, driven by 27-year-old Derrick R. Spain of Warsaw, was on Missouri 7, 839 feet south of Walking Horse Lane around 4 p.m., when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2012 Chevy Malibu, driven by 24-year-old Bailey C. Jelinek of Deepwater, head-on. After the impact, the two vehicles rotated and were struck by a southbound 2001 Dodge Ram 3500, driven by 63-year-old Alan C. Haverland of Deepwater.
