Teens Injured in Benton County Wreck Two teens were injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred in Benton County Monday night. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2008 Honda Civic, driven by 19-year-old Tarique T. Maxwell of Kansas City, was on Missouri 7 and ran the stop sign at Highway 65 at 9 p.m. The vehicle became airborne, striking a stop sign, then returned to the roadway, striking a telephone pole before coming to rest, facing northbound. Maxwell suffered moderate injuries, while his passenger, a 16-year-old female from Blue Springs, suffered minor injuries. Maxwell was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia for treatment. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
