Fact Check: FIFA World Cup win celebrations in Paris viral as march against Covid curbs

India Today Anti Fake News War Room (AFWA) has found that the picture is of people celebrating France s 2018 FIFA World Cup victory.
A picture of a huge gathering of people is circulating on social media with the claim that it captures a major protest held in Paris recently against coronavirus restrictions.
France has delayed reopening of cultural venues and introduced a night curfew to curb the spread of Covid-19. This has irked many people who recently held demonstrations in Paris and other French cities.

The claim, however, is false.
A Google reverse image search of the post found this report on UK news site Metro. The report, which includes the same image, is about celebrations in Paris following the French national football team’s win at the 2018 World Cup.
