Portsmouth detectives name person of interest after teen shot & killed

PORTSMOUTH, Va. â Detectives are looking for a person of interest possibly connected to a recent homicide.
On Monday around 2 p.m., the Emergency Communication Center received a call about a shooting incident near the 1400 block of Crawford Parkway, where a 16-year-old male suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
Detectives are attempting to locate 20-year-old Shawnise Marie Stephenson. She was seen driving a light color BMW convertible possibly light gray or light blue.

Portsmouth Detectives arrest man in connection to Gold Mine robbery

PORTSMOUTH, Va. â Portsmouth Detectives have identified and located a robbery suspect.
On May 1 around 3:18 p.m., officials received a call about a robbery at Gold Mine, located at 2012-B Victory Boulevard. Detectives were able to acquire several photos of the suspect.
On May 7, police received an anonymous 911 call in reference to the location of Melvin Tyrone Edwards. The caller said that Edwards was the unknown suspect in the Gold Mine robbery.
Officers apprehended Edwards, brought him in for questioning, and charged him for the robbery.
