The trip came after two soldiers from 1st Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment, died by suicide in late December and January, and a third soldier attempted suicide in that same time period, according to two people and an email from a unit official obtained by Army Times that describes the three incidents.

US Army and nine other nations kick off Combined Resolve exercise in Bavaria

By IMMANUEL JOHNSON | STARS AND STRIPES Published: February 1, 2021 GRAFENWOEHR, Germany Some 4,700 troops from nine allied and partner nations were scheduled to arrive at the U.S. Army’s largest training area in Europe Monday for an exercise seeking to test the readiness of U.S. troops to fight potential Russian aggression. Forces from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia, Italy, Kosovo, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania and Slovenia will be in Germany for the Combined Resolve XV exercise. They’ll train with soldiers from the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division out of Fort Hood, Texas, which last year began a nine-month rotation in Germany, the 7th Army Training Center told Stars and Stripes by email.

Panther Brigade in Joint Training Exercise with Brazilian Paratroopers

The 3rd Brigade Combat Team “Panther Brigade” of the 82nd Airborne Division and soldiers with the Brazilian army are participating in a 10-day simulated combat training exercise at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) at Fort Polk, La. The 82nd Airborne Division is sending more than 4,000 paratroopers and 500 pieces of equipment to participate in this exercise. Nearly 200 Brazilian Army paratroopers are also engaged, marking the largest deployment by an South American partner nation in the Western Hemisphere to train alongside U.S. Forces. Elements from the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade and Airborne Division Sustainment Brigade are also supporting the exercise.

The US Army is deploying its first Combat Aviation Brigade, the Demon Brigade, out of Fort Riley, Kansas this week. The 842nd Transportation Battalion is set to move 1,500 pieces of military equipment, including vehicles and aircraft, as apart of the U.S. Army s exercise with NATO allies in Europe.
