According to statistics from the Portland Bureau of Transportation, in 2017, 6.3% of Portlanders use bikes as transportation to work. This accounts for 22,647 workers, the most significant number of individuals of any large city in the United States. However, biking is not just a fantastic form of transportation. It can also be an excellent way to get some exercise and explore Portland. With 85 miles of paths alone, there are tons of ways to explore our beautiful city.
Almost all paths in Portland connect to one central loop split in half by the Tilikum Bridge. To the left of the Bridge lies the Springwater Corridor.
Oregon Walks requests emergency speed reduction on Northeast 82nd Avenue in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. Last month, within a span of two weeks, two pedestrians were struck and killed on Northeast 82nd Avenue within two city blocks: Stephen Looser and Anthony Tolliver.
Now, Oregon Walks, a pedestrian safety advocacy group is demanding the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) place an emergency speed reduction on the road. It s the first in a series of steps that the group says will save lives.

Last month, two men were killed by cars while trying to cross that very road.

TriMet Blue Line riders in Portland’s southeast area will see delays and shuttle buses as part of their commutes Monday through Friday, May 3-7.
Crews will be working on track improvements between Civic Drive and the E. 122nd Avenue platform 7 a.m. Monday through 8 p.m. Friday. Shuttle buses will be serving riders between these two stations. Commuters should add at least an extra 30 minutes to their trips.
