UPDATE: Police say a medical event may have contributed to the early Friday crash.
A driver was killed in a single-vehicle roll-over crash that closed Southeast Powell Boulevard on Friday, Jan. 8.
Policde said the was a 73-year-old man from Happy Valley. There are indications that a medical event may have contributed to the crash.
No other person was injured in the crash, which also destroyed a TriMet stop.
According to police, 5:47 a.m. Friday, Central Precinct officers responded to a crash on Powell at Southeast 24th Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle that had rolled over.
Portland Fire & Rescue paramedics attempted lifesaving measures, but the driver was determined to be dead.

Police are looking for the driver who caused the 57th traffic fatality of the year in Northeast Portland.
Police are searching for the driver in a fatal Wednesday night hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Northeast Portland.
The name of the victim was not immediately released. The suspect vehicle is a small sedan or SUV.
The death is the 57th traffic fatality of the year in Portland. That is already seven more than in all of 2019, and just two shy of the previous high of 59 fatalities in 1996.
According to police, the investigation began at approximately 8:39 p.m. Dec. 23 when East Precinct officers responded to the 11900 block of Northeast Halsey Street on reports of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. When officers and medical personnel arrived on scene, they located the victim along the south curb of Northeast Halsey Street and Northeast 119th Avenue. It appeared the driver of the vehicle had fled from the scene.

A man has died from injuries sustained after being struck in a crosswalk along Barbur Boulevard in Southwest Portland.
Portland Police Bureau responded to an injury traffic incident in the 3000 block of Southwest Barbur Boulevard at 8:33 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16. Officers said when they arrived on scene, they determined a single vehicle struck a pedestrian who was using a wheelchair to cross the road that night against the crosswalk signal.
The person struck was later identified as Clayton Chamberlin, 66. Medical personnel [were] called to the scene and began attempting lifesaving measures on the pedestrian, a PPB press release states. The pedestrian was rushed to an area hospital but later succumbed to their injuries.
