On Sunday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that the Moynihan Train Hall project will be completed on Thursday, with the first trains set to operate on Friday.
The 255,000-square foot, $1.6 billion project was first announced in Cuomo s 2016 State of the State address. It transformed the James A. Farley Post Office into a modernized facility that expands Penn Station s concourse space by 50%. New Yorkers have known for decades that Penn Station needed to be reimagined and after years of work, the Moynihan Train Station will open on time and on budget at the end of 2020, Cuomo said in a statement.

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who’s known for his brash persona, had a relatively measured reaction Sunday about President Donald Trump recently giving a full pardon to a man Christie prosecuted when he was U.S. attorney.
Trump, a Christie friend and ally, announced Thursday he pardoned Charles Kushner, the wealthy New Jersey real estate developer who went to jail for tax fraud more than a decade ago in a famous case that Christie oversaw as New Jersey’s federal prosecutor. Kushner is the father of Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law and a senior adviser to the president.
