Marco, 6, does 50 mile bike challenge for NHS

Park School pupil Marco Prynn may only be six years of age but he set himself a big challenge to help NHS staff during the pandemic. Whilst children across the region have had to cope with all the challenges of lockdown and home schooling, Marco showed incredible positivity, resilience and care at an incredibly young age. His father Nigel said: It was during last half term, Marco was aware of all of the great work being undertaken by all the doctors, nurses, patients and other staff and decided he wanted to raise money for the hospital to help! He loves riding his bike, so together we came up with the ‘50 miles for £50’ challenge and started the Justgiving page together.

BCP s NHS hospital charities merge to form new foundation

BOURNEMOUTH and Poole Hospital Charities have announced that they are to come together to create University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity from April 1. The newly formed charity will operate across the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Trust, hosting annual events, fundraisers and challenges to help support the three Dorset hospitals. University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity have said their mission is to enhance the care and treatment of patients accessing NHS services at Poole, Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals. This will be done by fundraising to provide enhanced facilities, state-of-the-art equipment and support NHS staff health, wellbeing and development. Head of charity Debbie Anderson said: “The newly formed charity will enable us to support a wider range of fundraising and provide even more support across all three hospital sites.
