Rios de la Luz’s debut novella,
Itzá (Broken River Books, 2017), tells the story of a young water witch, Marisol, and explores trauma, healing, and growth.
jaz papadopoulos: First, I want to say that I loved
Itzá so much. I connected with it on a personal level as a watery witch, the child of an immigrant, and someone with a rather particular affection for my grandmothers. A friend recommended it to me years ago, and I understand why.
But first, a warm up question: Who/what inspires you? Who are the authors you turn and return to, and what other practices spur your creative world?
There is a particular kind of heart attack moment when you accidentally send a message or an email and then you realize that it’s the wrong person or that you have left in a huge mistake and there is now no way of reversing this decision.
Well, imagine that same feeling except it’s not one, but six months worth of messages and not just you, but multiple people in a family group chat. And you only realize that there is an impostor in the chat after those six months when someone asks to add ‘dad’ to it.
Imagine the feeling when you add a random person to your family chat and only notice it 6 months later?

And Tom Felton reunited with Jason Isaacs as they took part in a hilarious game of charades in a clip from the former s forthcoming Holiday Home Party special with Veeps, which he shared via Twitter on Wednesday.
The actor, 33, and his former co-star, 57, were left in hysterics as they competed in a game of charades using the mobile game Heads Up.
First up was Jason, who was trying to get Tom to guess that he was holding up a sign that said a hippopotamus .
