MUSKOGEE, Okla. Six people, including five young children, were shot to death early Tuesday at a home in Oklahoma, and a 25-year-old man suspected in the killings was taken into custody, police said.
Officers responded about 1:30 a.m. to a call of multiple people shot at a home in Muskogee, Police Officer Lynn Hamlin said.
Authorities found one man and four children dead at the scene, and a fifth child died at a Tulsa hospital, Hamlin said. Officers also encountered Jarron Deajon Pridgeon with a gun and took him into custody.
A woman who was shot and wounded was in stable condition Tuesday afternoon, Ms Hamlin said.
Authorities have not released the victims names.
Ms Hamlin described the slain youths as âsmall childrenâ but said police do not yet have their exact ages.
She said authorities don t know a motive but do not believe any other suspects are involved.

Ms Hamlin said the suspect and victims all lived in the home, but that the exact nature of their relationships had not been determined.

A man has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of six people, including five small children, in Oklahoma earlier this week as new details emerge in the case, according to officials and reports.
Police have arrested Jarron Deajon Pridgeon, 25, on the charge of first-degree murder for allegedly gunning down the six victims, including children ages 1, 3, 5, 6 and 9, police said. The adult victim, 24-year-old Javarion Lee, is allegedly Pridgeon’s brother.
Raven Anderson, who is an aunt to the children, told Tulsa TV station KOTV that Pridgeon was the father of three of the slain children. Police Officer Lynn Hamlin said the suspect and victims all lived in the home.

Six people were shot to death early Tuesday at a home in Oklahoma, including five young children, and a suspect in the killings was taken into custody, police said. Officers responded about 1:30 a.m. to a call of multiple people shot at a home in Muskogee, a city of just under 40,000 people about 45 miles southeast of Tulsa, police said in a statement.
Once there, officers encountered a person with a gun, according to the statement. An officer shot at the suspect and missed as the suspect ran from the scene but was later taken into custody.
