The Police Command in Osun on Friday debunked reports of an attack on Ofatedo Area, Osogbo, by suspected killer herders.
The command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, in a statement, said the news being peddled were false alarm.
She said the reports and information were calculated attempts to create fear and panic in the state; therefore it should be disregarded.
“The attention of the Osun Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale Olokode, has been drawn to the news/rumours making the rounds that some suspected herdsmen invaded and attacked Ofatedo Area of Osun.
“The CP, in the other company of the Special Adviser on Security to the Governor, Mrs Abiodun Ige, personally paid on the spot assessment to the area to ascertain the authenticity of the news being speculated but found out that it was false and untrue.

Police arrest suspects over murders in Osun
Two persons were killed by the hoodlums during the attack.

The Police Command in Osun on Friday, said it has arrested five suspected hoodlums who allegedly attacked a residence in Ede and killied two persons.
A statement by the State Police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, said that about 30 hoodlums at 5:30p.m. on Thursday, attacked the residence of Wakili Olayiwola in Ede, Osun, shooting sporadically into the house before setting a car ablaze.
According to the statement, “the hoodlums allegedly shot bullets into the house of Wakili, set his car ablaze and also made attempt to burn down his house before the police came to the rescue”.
