Police will assist trade ministry in meat cartel probe, says IGP | Daily Express Online

LANGKAWI: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador ( pictured) said the police will assist the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) with investigations into the meat import cartel case. He said the department has also opened several investigation papers over the issue based on reports lodged by several individuals and non-governmental organisations. This issue is related to trade, so the most relevant (authority) to investigate it is KPDNHEP, but in the meantime, the police will investigate reports claiming that there are cartels that commit irregularities with regard to imported meat. Melaka MCPF to launch campaign against incestuous child abuse

Melaka MCPF chief Edison Chan ( pic) said MCPF would be working with the state police in highighting the importance of creating a Protect & Prevent environment for children following a dramatic increase in incest cases in Melaka during the movement control order (MCO) period. “Melaka police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Abdul Majid has voiced his concerns to us over the unprecedented hike in rape cases within families. “MCPF Melaka will do its part to create awareness, targeting perpetrators and the victims, ” he said on the sidelines of the MCPF’s AGM in Ayer Keroh here Saturday (Dec 19). Melaka CID chief Asst Comm Mohd Sukri Kaman told The Star on Dec 8 that the state saw an increase of almost 100% in incest cases compared to previous years.
