SALEM An officer responded at 5:45 a.m. Friday to investigate a noise complaint in the 1900 block of Maple Street. Nothing was found. A family member was cleaning a deceased family member’s residence sometime before 10:38 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of West Fourth Street, when she discovered several electronic smoking devices and an a substance, all of which police disposed of. A caller reported at 12:48 p.m. Friday that while she was in line buying a drink at a gas station in the 2800 block of East State Street, someone reached into her vehicle and sprayed an unknown substance. The incident is still under investigation.

LISBON Paul Beaver, 31, Orchard Street, East Liverpool, stipulated in Common Pleas Court to violating the terms of his community control. He was sentenced to 120 days in jail with credit for 11 days already served. His community control was dishonorably terminated. Beaver had been convicted of possession of cocaine for having the substance on Feb. 26, 2019.

A Garfield Avenue resident reported at 10:59 p.m. Tuesday a foster child ran away. A man reported at 1:41 p.m. Monday he was concerned his adult daughter may have been kidnapped. A West High Street man reported at 12:29 p.m. Sunday a sick raccoon was in his yard. Police found the animal was sick and it was put down. Police assisted deputies at a domestic disturbance at a Jimtown Road home at 11:53 p.m. Friday. Michael Harroff was later arrested for persistent disorderly conduct and transported to the county jail. A clerk at Circle K reported at 6:02 a.m. Friday a woman had been inside the store for several hours and seemed to be upset.
