Tax Collector service centers closed on June 21

Service centers for the Polk County Tax Collector’s Office will be closed June 21 for installation of a new computer system. While the centers are closed, the staff will engage in training on the new tax system, the office said in a news release.
Polk County residents in need of renewing their vehicle registrations can still do so using mail and online services. Those needing same-day vehicle registration renewal services on June 21 may visit the Legion Tag Agency in Winter Haven and the kiosks available at the Oakbridge and Grove Park Publix locations in Lakeland.

Crawford receives Info-Tech CIO award
Terri-Anne Crawford, chief information officer at the Polk County Tax Collector s Offices was recognized by Info-Tech Research Group, a leading IT research and advisory firm, as a 2020 Info-Tech CIO Awards winner. Crawford joined the Tax Collector s Office in February 2012. She directs leadership in the areas of information technologies’ support services, application development and project management. Under Crawford s direction, the IT department has developed systems such as a customized customer queuing system linked directly to a customer feedback system. These systems are instrumental in providing discreet data to the Business Intelligence program, providing information to improve the customer experience and gain operational efficiencies.
