Elderly man dies days after being hit in Polk County parking lot

LAKELAND, Fla. - Tammy Harper had no idea there was a video of her uncle being hit until Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said he was disgusted no one stopped to help. I just cried, she said during an interview Friday from her home in Cape Coral. I just cried out loud. I was so shocked.
Travis Farley died May 4, three weeks after the crash at the US-92 Citgo.
A cascading series of ailments accelerated the moment he was hit. Deputies - and his family - believe the driver didn t realize what happened, given the driver left slowly.
Shortly before midnight, Herrera, 19, and his sister, Carla Hilario, 16, were walking through the mobile home park where they live when they stopped to look at a vehicle. Jean Colon, known as Felix, and his brother, Joseph Colon, were on their porch and thought that Herrera was giving them a “nasty look.”
Joseph Colon later told deputies that Hererra gripped his waistband as if he had a weapon.
The brothers left their front porch and followed Herrera and Hilario as they walked away and other neighbors also left their homes to watch. The Colons’ sister, Gabriella Chirinos, 20, fired a stun gun that made a popping sound.
Over 1400 Pounds of Meth Seized from Drug Ring Masterminded from Prison

Orlando s Wesh 2 News reports that several arrests were made after more than 1,400 pounds of methamphetamine was seized in an investigation known to Polk County officials as Operation Dirty Water.
In a Thursday press conference, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told the public that the operation was the largest methamphetamine seizure in the history of the Polk County Sheriff s Office.
He went on to explain that the largest seizure included 1,342 pounds of liquid meth which was being transported across state lines in buckets as well as 63 kilos of crystal meth, 25 pounds of THC edibles and 2,544 Xanax pills. The street value for all these drugs is roughly $54 million.
The operation began Jan. 14, when federal agents intercepted a shipment of generic Xanax in New York, Judd said. The Department of Homeland Security Investigations coordinated with its Tampa office to arrange undercover purchases of other drugs, and the agency asked the Polk County Sheriff’s Office for help, said Kevin Sibley, special agent in charge for the Tampa office.
Federal agents seized a parcel containing about 2,500 generic Xanax pills, PCSO said. Three days after Sibley contacted Judd s office, undercover operations were set up in Polk County.
Undercover agents arranged a controlled delivery of the pills to Amber Cayson, 37, at 3237 Xerxes Ave. in Winter Haven, the PCSO said. When deputies arrested Cayson, they found 2.4 pounds of marijuana, 24 pounds of edible THC-infused products and one pound of methamphetamine, the release said.
