Fort Meade man stole lights from grave of slaying victim, PCSO says

POLK COUNTY  A Fort Meade resident was arrested Monday on a charge of stealing solar lights from the grave site of one of the victims of a triple killing in Frostproof.  The Polk County Sheriff s Office said Kevin John Wheeler, 45, was arrested on charges of  removing a monument and petit theft.   According to a Polk County Sherriff s Office press release, the lights were stolen from the grave of Damion Tillman at the Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Meade. Tillman, 23, was gunned down along with friends Brandon Rollins, 28, and Keven Springfield, 30, on July 17 within minutes of meeting at Frostproof’s Lake Streety for some night fishing. Tony “T.J.” Wiggins, 26, was charged with first-degree murder in the slayings, and prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

Investigators, along with Texas Ranger Ryan Clendennen responded to the scene and an autopsy was ordered. The victim was identified as 19-year-old Brodrick Anthony Cooper of Livingston. Once investigators made a positive identification, they were able to start tracking his whereabouts and who he had associated with within the last 24 hours.
