(Emily Rose Bennett | MLive.com) Facebook Share GRAND RAPIDS, MI The number of new jobs and investment that The Right Place, a Grand Rapids-based economic development organization, helped bring to West Michigan fell sharply this year as the coronavirus pandemic wreaked havoc on the global economy. On Thursday, Right Place President and CEO Birgit Klohs announced her organization had helped create or retain 953 jobs and $105.6 million in capital investment in 2020. That includes a $36 million expansion by baby food manufacturer Gerber in Fremont, as well as plans by generic pharmaceutical maker Perrigo to build a $44.8 million corporate headquarters in Grand Rapids.
