Gigi Hadid is showing support for Palestine amid a flare-up in tensions in the conflict with Israel.
In a series of Instagram Stories, the American-Palestinian supermodel expressed her sadness and frustration after violence erupted following the threatened eviction of Palestinian families from a Jerusalem neighborhood.
Tensions have risen sharply in recent days ahead of the now-delayed Israeli court ruling on whether authorities were able to evict dozens of Palestinians from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, outside the Old City, and give their homes to Jewish settlers.
Press briefing note on Occupied Palestinian territories - 11 May 2021

Location: Geneva
Date: 11 May 2021
We are deeply concerned at the escalation of violence in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel in the past days.
According to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, 915 Palestinians were injured between 7 and 10 May in East Jerusalem, and over 200 in the West Bank, most by Israeli security forces. Reportedly one Palestinian with Israeli citizenship has been killed in Israel. As of 10 May approximately 20 Israelis, the majority of whom were members of security forces, had reportedly been injured as well. We condemn all violence and all incitement to violence and ethnic division and provocations.
The ongoing clashes between Israel and Palestine are spiraling into a border conflict, with Palestinian militants along the Gaza Strip on Monday firing rockets toward Jerusalem as well as southern Israel.
The rockets were fired shortly after a deadline issued by Gaza s Islamist rulers Hamas for Israel to withdraw its forces following continued clashes. Israel responded to the rockets with air strikes.
Gaza s health ministry says nine Palestinians, including three children, were killed in northern Gaza.
Israel s Prime Minister warned that such attacks will never be tolerated. This evening, on Jerusalem Day, the terrorist organisations in Gaza have crossed a red line and attacked us with missiles in the outskirts of Jerusalem. Israel will respond with great force. We will not tolerate attacks on our territory, on our capital, on our citizens and on our soldiers. Whoever attacks us will pay a heavy price.

Ramallah: Palestine is intensifying its contacts with the international community in an effort to curb the ongoing violent clashes in East Jerusalem, President Mahmoud Abbas said.
The aim of the contacts is to stop the dangerous escalation of violence against Muslim and Christian holy sites in East Jerusalem, Abbas told his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a phone conversation on Monday. During this hard time Palestine is passing through, we need to be united to face what is happening in East Jerusalem, end the internal division and form a unity government, Xinhua news agency quoted the President as saying.

On a busy street outside Jerusalem s walled Old City on Monday, a group of Palestinians pelted an Israeli car with rocks in a moment of violence captured on CCTV video.
When it was over, the driver stood, an improvised bandage on his head and blood on his shirt, next to his wrecked car, guarded by a policeman with his pistol drawn. One of the attackers, who was hit by the vehicle, had already limped away.
Palestinians accused the motorist of a deliberate ramming. Police say the driver lost control of the car.
