On the occasion of the International Week Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT 2021) marked this week, an online public event on combating hate crime affecting LGBTI people, including a launch of the Ukrainian adaptation of the Council of Europe manual âPolicing hate crime against LGBTI persons: training for a professional police responseâ be organised
on 20 May 2021, from 10:00 to 12:00, local time. The EU and the Council of Europe stand with Ukraine to promote and defend human rights.

From February to April 2021, 15 staff members of the Ombudsperson Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan participated in a training organised by the regional Eastern Partnership project on combating discrimination. The training was practice-based, so participants learnt how to combat discrimination through handling complaints from citizens and promoting equality activities.
The objectives were:
To support the learning of staff members of the Ombudsoffice in Azerbaijan in the field of dealing with discrimination complaints
To do practical exercises and activities on complaints handling in discrimination cases
To introduce to staff members of the Ombudsoffice in Azerbaijan to good practices of complaints handling in discrimination cases from other Ombudsoffice in the region.
