GRAPEVINE, Texas The Automotive Parts Services Group (The Group) held its virtual national conference and expo the week of April 11 with over 1,200 members, vendors and associates participating. The week-long event included panel discussions, industry presentations, a booth show and over 2,000 one-on-one sessions, the parts distribution network said.

The Group debuts technician coaching program

Print GRAPEVINE, Texas Automotive Parts Services Group (The Group) has developed a coaching program through its Group Training Academy to help technicians improve their diagnostic skills. The Group Training Academy s (TGTA) new coaching program is a great way for service techs to enhance their skills as well as learn more about topics they might not have much experience with, CEO Larry Pavey said. The TGTA coaching program is also an educational opportunity that shop owners can leverage to help their current employees expand their knowledge and expertise. The TGTA technician coaching program sessions include an online assessment and six group sessions that are held weekly online.

National Pronto Association, Automotive Distribution Network planning to merge operations Print GRAPEVINE, Texas National Pronto Association and Automotive Distribution Network, two allied auto parts distributors, plan to merge their operations in a move designed to help the groups ensure their collective future viability. The two organizations which together represent over 250 members in North America with an estimated annual revenue of approximately $5 billion will become the Pronto Automotive Distribution Network, effective Jan. 1, 2021. The combined organization s members will continue to go to market under the Pronto, Parts Plus and Auto Pride names, the organizations said. Headquartered in Grapevine, Pronto Automotive Distribution Network will be led by Robert Roos as president and David Prater as executive vice president.
