Aaron Boone: Darren O Day s season likely over due to hamstring injury By Erin Walsh  |  Last updated 7/18/21 The New York Yankees will be down a veteran reliever for the rest of the 2021 season.  According to Greg Joyce of the New York Post, Yankees manager Aaron Boone revealed Sunday that Darren O Day s season is likely over due to the left hamstring strain he suffered during a pregame workout on July 6. I would say it s likely his season is over, but we ll have some more information on that when it s ready to give, Boone said. O Day also missed two months earlier this season due to a right rotator-cuff strain. The right-hander has pitched to a 3.38 ERA over 12 games, striking out 11 in 10.2 innings.
