Former North Platte resident sentenced for child pornography

Former North Platte resident Nathanael J. Brown was sentenced Friday in Lincoln for transportation of child pornography to 6 years and 6 months in prison plus 7 years of supervised release with special conditions.
There is no parole in the federal system. Brown, 28, was also ordered to pay $3,500 in restitution.
Acting U.S, Attorney Jan Sharp said the case began when Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in Nebraska received a cyber-tip indicating that Kik user “antin5” (later identified as Brown) uploaded a child pornography file on April 29, 2019.
A Columbus man has been convicted by a jury in a federal court in West Virginia for attempting to arrange sex with two girls.
Makel Elboghdady, 36, from the Northeast Side, was found guilty Thursday of traveling to engage in illicit sexual conduct. He’s scheduled to be sentenced in August and is facing up to 30 years in prison.
“This case should serve as a warning to offenders that the U.S. Attorney’s Office and our law enforcement partners will work together to hold you accountable and bring you to justice,” Lisa G. Johnson, acting U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of West Virginia, said in a released statement.

PHILADELPHIA â Craig Alex Levin, 65, of King of Prussia, was charged by superseding indictment with additional child exploitation offenses related to his travel to the Philippines.
The defendant, a former teacher who was previously detained in the Philippines, was deported back to the United States in August 2020 and has been held in federal detention since that time, according to Acting United States Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams.
The superseding indictment contains 16 counts including nine counts of interstate and foreign travel for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct with a minor, two counts of sex trafficking of a minor, one count of use of an interstate commerce facility to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity, two counts of distribution of child pornography, one count of transfer of obscene material to a minor, and one count of transportation of child pornography.
Sherman fed court sentences man to 30 years for making child porn

Sherman-based Federal District Judge Amos Mazzant sentenced a Flower Mound man to 30 years in prison for the sexual exploitation of a child this week.
A statement from Acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas Nicholas J. Ganjei said Jermaine Lanie Codrington, 39, was convicted by a jury on Sep. 4, 2020, of production of child pornography. Upon his release from custody, Codrington will be on supervised release for 10 years and will be required to register as a sex offender.
This case was investigated by members of Homeland Security Investigations – Dallas and the Flower Mound Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Marisa Miller and Maureen Smith.
