Beistline for their roles in the December 4, 2019 armed robbery of an Anchorage Wells Fargo Bank branch on Debarr Rd. Totoe Opeti Sakaria, Jr., 24, and co-defendant, Brandon David McDonald, 24, both of Anchorage, were indicted by the grand jury in December 2019 for their roles in the armed robbery and have been detained without bail since December 10, 2019. Sakaria pleaded guilty to bank robbery and use of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence in October 2020 and was sentenced Thursday to 126 months in prison. McDonald pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact to bank robbery in October 2020 and was sentenced Friday to 28 months in prison.

Fernando Valencia, 31, of Turlock, was sentenced Thursday to six years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm, U.S. Attorney McGregor W. Scott announced. According to court documents, on Oct. 30, 2019, Valencia was in possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle in Turlock. He was previously convicted of multiple felonies, including a violent assault, and was therefore prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition. At the time of Valencia’s arrest, he was on federal probation in the Southern District of California following a 2014 conviction.
