Vermont ranks second for states for COVID-19 vaccinations

More than 17 million doses have been distributed across the country, with nearly 50,000 coming to Vermont so far and over 21,000 administered. As of January 5, Vermont Hospitals have administered the first doses of the Pfizer and Moderna Vaccines to more than 17,700 Vermonters. This number does not take into account clinics that are scheduled in the coming days, which means the amount of administered and scheduled vaccination is likely much closer to the 34,000 vaccines Vermont received. The full-time employee tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies Tuesday during a daily antigen test and the result was confirmed by a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, according to an email from facility administrator Dane Rank. He said all staff take antigen tests upon reporting for work and receive PCR testing weekly. The facility has implemented “transmission precautions” including the wearing of N95 masks, goggles and gowns, according to the email.

Bernard McDonald, 65, of Westborough, Mass., pleaded not guilty to the 19 counts that have been filed by Windham County Deputy State s Attorney Steven Brown in the case. McDonald is charged with four counts of drunk driving, injury resulting, along with 10 counts of reckless endangerment, for driving down the interstate at speeds of up to 100 miles an hour, and going the wrong way, among other charges. McDonald, who participated in the 30-minute court hearing by telephone, gave only mono-syllabic answers to a couple of questions posed by Windham Superior Court Judge Michael Kainen, except to say, I m Bernie McDonald, I m here to the judge s question.
