PORTLAND, Ore. Covid-19 has now claimed 36 more lives in Oregon, according to the Oregon Health Authority.
OHA also reported 1,542 new confirmed and presumptive cases, bringing the state total to 101,814.
Today s new cases include: Baker (9), Benton (23), Clackamas (109), Clatsop (5), Columbia (12), Coos (16), Crook (10), Curry (7), Deschutes (63), Douglas (24), Gilliam (2), Harney (1), Hood River (24), Jackson (75), Jefferson (26), Josephine (19), Klamath (52), Lake (1), Lane (172), Lincoln (2), Linn (35), Malheur (48), Marion (161), Morrow (7), Multnomah (326), Polk (34), Tillamook (14), Umatilla (48), Union (8), Wasco (18), Washington (148), Yamhill (43).
With 36 new deaths, this brings our state death toll to 1,340:

Oregon reported 1,542 new known COVID-19 cases Saturday about 20% more than the average for the past week.
The state also reported 36 new deaths tying for the third highest count in a single day since the pandemic began. The record was set Tuesday, when the state reported 54 deaths.
Saturday’s numbers come on the same day progress continued to be made toward the goal of ending the pandemic: A committee for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention gave the green light for a second vaccine, made by Moderna, to be administered to the American public.

Lane County Public Health reported 58 new confirmed and suspected cases of COVID-19 on its website Sunday, bringing the countywide total to 6,239 since the start of the pandemic.
Forty-six people were reported hospitalized and of those, 10 were in the intensive care units. Of those 10, three were on ventilators. Four hundred eighty-three were considered contagious, down slightly from Saturday s 495.
The Oregon Health Authority reported 1,153 new and confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 102,930.
OHA also reported one death, Oregon’s 1,341st, raising the Oregon death toll to 1,341. She was a 91-year-old Josephine County woman who tested positive Dec. 5 and died Dec. 17 at Ashland Community Hospital. She had underlying conditions.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KTVZ) COVID-19 has claimed 36 more lives in Oregon, including two from Jefferson County, raising the state’s death toll to 1,340, along with 1,542 new cases, the Oregon Health Authority reported Saturday.
Jefferson County s 13th and 14th deaths were a 65-year-old man who died last Sunday at St. Charles Bend and a 68-year-old woman who died Friday, also at the Bend hospital.
