A 37-year-old East Orange man was shot and killed overnight in Jersey City.
Stebbin Drew was found unresponsive after being shot near the City Crossings Apartments parking lot at Merseles Court and Bright Street around 1:50 a.m., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.

Fatal shooting in Bayonne marks second homicide in a week

A man was shot and killed in Bayonne on March 6, marking the second homicide in under a week. On March 3, Mathew Mortimer was fatally stabbed on Ave. C between 53rd and 54th Streets.
Under investigation
On Saturday, March 6 at approximately 11:15 p.m., the Bayonne Police Department received a report of shots fired in the area of East 49th Street and Avenue E in Bayonne.
Police Officers found a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, later identified as Anthony Alvarado, 27, of Bayonne, was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at approximately 11:59 p.m.

Police responding to reports of shots fired near East 49th Street and Avenue E found Anthony Alvarado suffering multiple gunshot wounds around 11:15 p.m., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
Alvarado was taken by EMS to Jersey City Medical Center. He was pronounced dead just before midnight, Suarez said.
The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
