A 14-YEAR-OLD boy suffered serious chest injuries after he crashed an allegedly stolen car into a tree at the intersection of Summerholm Road and the Warrego Highway.
Police were called to the Hatton Vale incident about 2.30am yesterday, where they found the boy behind the wheel of a silver 2004 model Mazda 3.
A police spokesman said the vehicle was allegedly taken from a Gatton home earlier that morning.
It is understood the boy was the sole occupant of the vehicle when he lost control of it and rolled into a tree, causing extensive damage.
Police allege the boy broke into two Gatton homes between midnight and the crash.

A MAN has been badly injured after a car collided with a tree in Hatton Vale.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash at the Warrego Highway and Summerholm Rd intersection about 2.35am, Monday.
Paramedics, including the High Acuity Response Unit, rushed to the scene along with three fire and rescue crews and police.
A male patient was assessed for chest pains and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition. hatton vale crash

Police appeal for public help: Fatal traffic crash, Rocklea
A woman has died in hospital following a traffic crash in Rocklea on Saturday, May 1.
Initial investigations suggest a white Ford Ranger utility and a silver Toyota Corolla sedan collided at the intersection of Granard Road and Beaudesert Road at around 1am.
The driver of the Corolla, a 54-year-old man, and his 85-year-old female passenger were transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
The woman passed away in hospital this morning as a result of her injuries.
The driver of the ute, a 39-year-old man, was not physically injured as a result of the crash.

Police seek information: Serious crash, Upper Mount Gravatt
Police are appealing for information following a serious traffic crash in Upper Mount Gravatt this afternoon.
At 5.50pm, a motorcyclist was travelling along Klumpp Road and has crashed at the intersection on Mains Road.
A local police officer located the rider on the side of the road suffering from serious injuries.
The motorcyclist a 42-year-old Upper Mount Gravatt man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
Police are appealing for anyone that may have witnessed the crash or may have dashcam footage to come forward and speak to police.
