With Kaiden Guhle still on the sidelines with a hand injury and Nolan Allan gearing up to join Canada’s Under-18 team in Texas, the Prince Albert Raiders have called up one of their top defensive prospects.
The team announced on Monday afternoon that 16-year-old blueliner Tre Fouquette had been added to their roster after clearing Saskatchewan Health Authority and Western Hockey League protocols.

Although the 2020-21 Western Hockey League season has been different than any on record, the frantic pace of the 24-game schedule has allowed players to get a ton of ice time over the last month.
For Prince Albert Raiders defenceman Nolan Allan, the return to action has allowed him to prepare for the biggest event of his career to date, as he’ll suit up for Canada at the IIHF World Under-18 Hockey Championship from April 26 to May 6 in Frisco and Plano, Texas.

Logan Nijhoff scored and Roddy Ross made 30 saves, but it wasn’t enough as the Regina Pats fell 3-1 to the Winnipeg Ice Monday night.
Pats Coach Dave Struch said he felt they played a good game against what’s become one of the top teams in the East Division.
“Overall, they do have a good team, that’s the way it is, that’s where they are in their program, but I thought our compete level was really good and we have lots to build off of for our game Tuesday night against Prince Albert,” he said.

For the second straight season, the Memorial Cup will not be awarded.
The Canadian Hockey League announced on Tuesday morning that the year-end tournament will not take place this year due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.
“As a league, we waited as long as we could in hopes that this was not the decision that we were going to have to make,” the CHL said in a prepared statement on Twitter. “Regrettably, we do not see a path in we will be able to produce champions in our three member leagues due to border restrictions and quarantining requirements.”
