The siblings of Braden Herman, the victim in a Prince Albert homicide investigation involving a veteran RCMP officer, want their younger brother never to be forgotten. They’re also calling for the Mountie accused of first-degree murder in this case “not to walk the streets and to be behind bars.”
PRINCE ALBERT Police in Prince Albert, Sask. have charged an RCMP officer with first-degree murder in the death of a 26-year-old man on Tuesday evening. Braden Herman’s body was found “in a wooded area within the city,” authorities said in a news release. His death is being investigated as a homicide and an autopsy is scheduled for Thursday. Police say the officer from the Prince Albert RCMP detachment is 52-year-old Bernie Herman, a 32-year-member of the RCMP. He was not on duty at the time of the incident. The officer and the victim were known to each other but are not related, police say.
SASKATOON A Prince Albert man faces child pornography charges after an investigation by the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit. According to police an investigation was triggered on Dec. 29, 2020 after police were made aware of child pornography being shared through a popular social media application, police said. On April 28, members of the ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Prince Albert where police believed the offences were occurring, according to police. Child pornography was located at the residence and several electronic items were seized for forensic analysis. Ryan Clark-McDonald, 20, of Prince Albert was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography and making child pornography available.

The Prince Albert Police Service has confirmed that a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has been arrested.
Joseph Curtis Madden, 26, was arrested at a residence in the 1300 Block of Main Street in Saskatoon on Friday evening.
Madden is facing a charge of second degree murder in the death earlier this month of Madison Rene Bird-Simaganis.
The Prince Albert Police Service’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and the Prince Albert Police Integrated Crime Reduction Team (ICRT) partnered on this investigation.
In their media release Saturday night, the Prince Albert Police Service acknowledged and thanked their agency partners for their significant efforts assisting with the file, including the Saskatoon Police Service and the Saskatoon detachment of the RCMP.

Madden, 26, will make his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Monday. He is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 21-year-old Madison Rene Bird-Simaganis.
Madden was arrested at a residence in the 1300 block of Main Street in Saskatoon’s Varsity View neighbourhood on Friday evening.
