Article content The Hastings and Prince Edward Counties public health region on Saturday surpassed a total of 1,000 cases of COVID-19, with the area’s health unit announcing some vacant vaccination appointments for later in the month. Since the pandemic began, Hastings Prince Edward Public Health recorded 1,004 cases. There were 81 active cases Saturday, an increase from Friday’s count of 75. The charitable organization – which provides services in Brighton as well as Hastings and Prince Edward Counties – offers free virtual education sessions, online/phone social opportunities and more, helping to connect with seniors in our community. Through contactless home drop-offs, the Sending Our Love campaign provided activity packages were delivered to clients – the activity kits included a variety of activity items, donated by community partners.

Youth2Youth program finds pen pals during COVID-19 | Bancroft this Week

May 4, 2021 By Kristena Schutt-Moore Youth2Youth Hastings Prince Edward is a youth led group supported by the United Way Quinte. They have a mission to spark innovative thinking in the youth of the area, and work in partnership with community leaders to help increase solutions to local problems as identified by the youth. In 2021 the area’s youth wish to see change inluding, economic development, the environment, youth poverty, sexual health and substance abuse, mental health, social media, gender equality/diversity and filling community gaps. One of the Youth2Youth Programs newest projects is the Youth2Youth PenPals Program which pairs youth who are close in age as writing partners.
