POPUMC Hiking Group: 2 Mile Loop Hike at Merrimac Farm WMA, Nokesville, VA
The next day hike for the POPUMC Hiking Group will be on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Merrimac Farm Wildlife Management Area. This will be an easy two mile hike consisting of two one mile loops. The hike will be easy. But getting into this 301 acre former farm is not. This facility is jointly managed by Quantico Marine Base, the Prince William Conservation Alliance and the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources. Since this is a WMA you have to possess either a valid VA fishing, hunting or trapping license, a current VA boat registration or obtain a VA DWR access permit. Permits are available online and cost $4.00. You must obtain this permit for Saturday, July 3, 2021 and before you arrive for the hike since there is no cell service at this park. Foster Parents to open their home and help youth in the community. FCS trains and supports all families ongoing before, during and after foster youth are in your home. FCS serves youth from birth until their 21st birthday, but the biggest need at this time are homes for youth ages 10-17.
