Western CT Locations For Prescription Drug Take Back Day
When my mother passed away in 2015, we had try to find a safe way to dispose of hundreds of prescription medication pills. In the wrong hands and mouths, these pills were deadly, and you can t just throw them in the garbage can and walk away. We found through some reading that the suggested disposal method was to dissolve the medication in water in heavy duty plastic bags, so that s what we did. Properly disposing of prescription meds is essential, it helps to prevent accidental overdoses and drug addiction, and a nationwide event is happening this Saturday, April 24, 2021. It s called

South Dakotans are encouraged to dispose of unwanted prescription drugs as part of the next DEA National Prescription Take Back Day tomorrow (April 24).
Prescription Take Back Day is part of the state Department of Social Services’ ongoing campaign to keep opioids like prescription pain killers from falling into the wrong hands.
Secretary Laurie Gill says this is a safe, easy and responsible way we can all help prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths. She says unwanted medications can be disposed of without question in a secure medication drop box at participating locations like pharmacies and police stations.

Cumberland County DA Jonathan Sahrbeck joins us to go over National Prescription Take Back Day. National Prescription Take Back Day happening April 24th, Saturday, from 10:00am – 2:00pm all around the country. Locate a Collection Site Near You go to Takebackday.dea.gov . Since inception in September 2010. During each national event, Maine has ranked #1 in the U.S. per capita, with the total pounds of medications collected. Everyone can help. Prevention is the key and we ask everyone to empty their medicine cabinets and bring them to their local drop off site.
No questions asked, easy drive through, COVID safe and safely dispose of the medication. Good for the environment, good for everyone.

JOHNSTOWN The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office will participate in the National Prescription Take Back Day, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration. The Prescription Take Back Day will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, 2712 Route 29, according to a news release.
The Fulton County residents can turn in any expired or unused prescription medications.
The following items will not be accepted.
