nullahs (drains) Mumbai, was inundated in the season s first monsoon showers on Wednesday. IMD has issued a red alert for Mumbai today and a yellow alert for the next four days.

Mumbai: The Bombay high court on Wednesday said the Centre’s approach against coronavirus, which is the society’s biggest enemy at present, should be “like a surgical strike” instead of standing at the borders waiting for the virus to come out.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation(BMC) riding high on its Covid success story says that the model implemented by the civic body for Covid-19 control will now be implemented by the Delhi government as well.
“In addition to preventing the contagious disease of ‘Covid-19 , BMC is working tirelessly to provide more effective medical treatment to the affected people. Despite the other challenges in this regard, including population density, the work done by the BMC is being positively acknowledged from time to time at the state, national and global levels.” said a BMC official
The south-west monsoon arrived in Mumbai on Wednesday, the IMD announced as heavy rains lashed the country s financial capital and suburbs since early morning.
Water-logging was reported in some low-lying areas, but the local train services remained unaffected, while routes of some BEST buses run the city civic body s transport wing were diverted.
A high tide of over four metres is expected around noon in the Arabian Sea, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said. It s monsoon arrival in Mumbai today, said Dr Jayanta Sarkar, head of the India Meteorological Department s (IMD) Mumbai office.
Several parts of the city and suburbs witnessed heavy rainfall along with thunder in the morning.
