To make music more easily accessible to consumers in India, audio streaming and media services provider Spotify recently launched two Premium Mini plans.
The daily plan is priced at Rs 7, and the weekly plan is priced at Rs 25. Besides providing an ad-free experience, these plans allow listeners to download and play songs offline, leading to an uninterrupted audio experience.Â

To deliver the value proposition of these new plans, Whatâs Your Problem (a Wondrlab company), a Mumbai-based integrated agency, has created an ad campaign that comprises two films â a sangeet dance prep with family, and a college friendsâ trip. It was in December 2020 when news broke that Spotify, a leading music streaming app, had introduced shorter and affordable subscription plans called âPremium Miniâ. One could now choose between a Rs 7 daily plan, or a week-long plan for Rs 25.

Spotify published its financial results for Q4 2020 today (February 3), revealing that its global Premium Subscriber base grew to 155 million in the quarter (ended December 31).
That was up by 11m subscribers (+7%) on the 144m that the company counted at the end of the prior quarter (Q3 2020), and up by 31m (+24%) year-on-year.
The company’s total global Monthly Active Users, (MAUs), meanwhile, grew 27% year-on-year to 345m in Q4 2020 and by 8% compared to the previous quarter (Q3) when the platform counted 320m MAUs.
Spotify’s Premium subscriber growth translated into Premium revenue of €1.887 billion for Spotify in Q4, which was slightly up (+5%) on the €1.790 generated in the prior quarter (Q3 2020) and up 15% year-on-year (see below).

Spotify Premium Mini plans: What’s new?
The new Spotify Premium Mini plans include daily and weekly access to the music streaming service. While the daily plan is priced at Rs. 7, the weekly plan is priced at Rs. 25.
