WINSTON-SALEM, NC (Seminoles.com) – Florida State Women’s Basketball (5-3, 4-3) prepares for its fifth ACC road race this season, including third in last four conference games, while facing Wake Forest (7-6, 4-5) on Thursdays at 6pm at LJVM Coliseum. The matchup will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
The FSU-Wake Forest match was originally scheduled to take place on Jan. 3, but was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols.

ATLANTA, Ga. (Seminoles.com) – Two of the ACC’s six teams with above a .500 conference record square off on Sunday afternoon as Florida State (5-2, 4-2) faces Georgia Tech (7-3, 5-2) at McCamish Pavilion at 1 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
The two Southeast rivals play for the 50th time in series history, with FSU owning a 27-22 edge.
The Yellow Jackets are a hard-nosed bunch that is allowing just 60.5 points per game this season. Junior guard Lotta-Maj Lahtinen is one of the top players in the ACC averaging 16.3 points, shooting 46.3 percent from the floor and totaling a team-best 37 assists this season. Georgia Tech is coming off a convincing 73-44 road win at Wake Forest, with senior forward Lorela Cubaj notching her third straight double-double.

Louisville played unselfishly, recording 22 assists on 32 baskets. Evans had a season-high eight to go with her 12 points. Smith, a redshirt junior, came off the bench to dish out six, reaching her season-high for the third time this season.
Five Louisville players reached double figures. Freshman guard Hailey Van Lith added 15. Freshman forward Olivia Cochran added 14 points, while fellow post player Liz Dixon notched her first double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
“When everyone’s hitting shots, it’s just a really beautiful thing,” Smith said. “We’re just so deep. Everyone on the court can contribute and score… So, it’s easy to rack up those assists when we’re sharing the ball like we are.”

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Seminoles.com) – Florida State Women’s Basketball faces a big road test on Sunday at 3 p.m. on ESPN2 as it battles No. 2 Louisville at the KFC Yum! Center.
“We’re excited,” FSU Interim Head Coach Brooke Wyckoff said. “Just to be able to go up there, play some basketball and play against a great team like them in their place will be a great experience for us. It will be a really great challenge, and I think our players are really excited and hungry and ready to get out on the floor.”
The Seminoles (4-1, 3-1) last played on Dec. 31 in a 73-63 win at Virginia Tech. Wyckoff looks to lead Florida State Women’s Basketball to its sixth 4-1 start in ACC play in the last seven years. A win on Sunday would be FSU’s first 4-1 start to conference play since the 2018-19 season.

Virginia Tech will be a tall order for FSU. The Hokies lead the ACC in field goal percentage (49.1), 3-point field goal percentage (41.7), 3-point field goals made (80) and rank second in assists (17.14).
Center Elizabeth Kitley (19.1 points) and guard Aisha Sheppard (17.3) make up the second-highest scoring duo in the ACC. Kitley has five double-doubles this season.
Florida State continues to be one of the nation’s best free-throw shooting teams, sitting 12th nationally and second in the ACC at 79.7 percent (63-of-79). FSU is making 7.0 more free throws per game compared to its opponents this season (15.8-8.8). FSU has shot 70 percent or better from the line in each of the previous four seasons.
