Michelle Giovannone, the art teacher at Brookland-Cayce High School, says Mayor Elise Partin of Cayce asked her Art 2 students if they would be interested in painting picnic tables. These tables were originally built by students at the Lexington Two Innovation Center.

Wendy Humphries, the Choral Director at Brookland-Cayce High School, says this is a big honor. We are a part of the South Carolina American Choral Directors Association. This is choral directors from across the state, that work with their high school students and prepare their students for this event, said Humphries.

(WIS) - Lexington School District Two has announced it will be holding in-person graduation ceremonies for the class of 2021. In-person graduation ceremonies will be held for two of the district high schools. The graduation ceremony for Airport High School is set to begin on Thursday, June 17 at 8 a.m. The graduation ceremony for Brookland-Cayce High School is set to begin on Friday, June 18 at 8 a.m. Details about in-person ceremonies for other schools will be released later this Spring.

COLUMBIA, S.C. Sump Strickland came down with pneumonia last fall, coughing and wheezing and just generally feeling terrible as the disease pounded his 72-year-old body. But Strickland, a big man who had survived serious illnesses before, beat pneumonia and looked forward to a pleasant holiday season with his family in North Myrtle Beach. Then, soon after Thanksgiving, the horrible feeling returned. This time, however, the illness was COVID-19. He checked into a hospital in late December, fighting the sickness for nearly a month until the end came.
