It is said that the BBMP Act 2020, lacks necessary legal provisions to go after building violators. It seems, the urban development department ( UDD), has done a half-baked job. According to the Act, zonal commissioners are given powers to issue notices to violators. However, the Act does not specify any actions to be taken to stop the violators from indulging in construction. A section of the Act includes instructions to regularise certain unlawful buildings.
