Johannesburg - The June and Andrew Mlangeni Foundation on Saturday paid tribute to late Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu, describing him as âa man of ethical leadership, values and principlesâ.
Mthembu, 62, died on Thursday due to Covid-19 related complications after being admitted to the Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Tshwane and later transferred to the Netcare Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg.
âOur foundation fully identifies with the values that he stood for â equality, justice, honesty and truthfulness. Mvelase [Mthembuâs clan name] was a man of ethical leadership, values and principles,â the late struggle stalwart and Rivonia Trialistâs foundation said.

South Africa’s Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu has died of the coronavirus, President Cyril Ramaphosa confirmed on Thursday. He was 62.
After his office announced that he tested positive for Covid-19 on January 11, Minister Mthembu died 10 days later to become the first cabinet minister to succumb to the virus.

JOHANNESBURG - The joint standing committee on Defence has added its condolences to the flood from South Africans who are all paying tribute to the late Jackson Mthembu.
The committee said that South Africa had been robbed of a committed civil servant who was dedicated to the service of the people.

Two doctors, a nurse, paramedic and pilot died when a Netcare medical emergency chopper crashed in Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal on Thursday.
