A member of the national communications team of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Stephen Atubiga has issued a warning that anyone who attempts to distort the legacy of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings in future will be brutally dealt with.
According to the ex-convict and former presidential aspirant of the NDC, sympathizers of the party will not hesitate to kill and set ablaze anyone who attempts to distort and take away the enviable legacies left behind by the former leader.

The Chief of Ejura Traditional Area, Barima Osei Hwedie II has eulogized late former President Jerry John Rawlings describing him as someone who shaped and instilled discipline in Ghanaian youth.
The Protocol Director at the Office of the Vice President who was full of praises for the late former President described him as the pinnacle of his successful career as a public servant.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with OTEC News’ Kwame Agyenim Boateng, on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, Barimah Osei Hwedie II noted that the late Rawlings has served the country well and deserves to be honoured.
The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has indicated that the University for Development Studies (UDS) will be named after former President Jerry John Rawlings.
The former President who passed away in November 2020 after a short illness declined a proposal to name the university after him when he was alive.
However, President Akufo-Addo while reading his tribute at the burial service insisted that the act is to immortalise the vibrant and energetic leader who played a significant role in the establishment of the institution.
“Whilst he was with us, he, respectfully, declined an offer I made to him in 2017, to have the University of Development Studies (UDS), Tamale which he personally helped establish, named after him.
Former President Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings biography captured the values and principles he believed in and practiced throughout his life.
It also captured his early life and education, married life, political career, international relations and post-presidency activities as well as his philanthrophic work, awards and honours chalked in his 73 years on earth.
It was read by Mr Eric Gbeho, Son of former Diplomat, Ambassador Victor Gbeho, during the state burial service at the Black Star Square, in Accra on Wednesday.
The tribute eulogised the former President Rawlings charismatic qualities, noting, Duty, accountability, social justice, human rights, dignity; these are all values that former President Jerry John Rawlings not only held in high esteem, but practiced every day during his time on earth .
Princess Amina Agyemang-Rawlings, the third daughter of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings couldn t hold back her tears as she read a tribute on behalf of her mother, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings.
Realising her sister was crying and finding it difficult to complete the tribute, Dr Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, came to stand behind her to encourage her on.
It was an emotional moment as her mother could also not hold back her tears.
