Pelosi Narrowly Re-elected as House Speaker
Representative Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat of California, secured 216 votes in a tight contest against Representative Kevin McCarthy of California, the Republican leader, who received 209 votes.

The lack of ethics wasn’t entirely surprising, given how Meacham both endorsed Biden during the campaign and spoke August 20 at the Democratic National Convention, and neither network seemed to care. And that’s in addition to the fact that their ethically-challenged ranks include Mike Barnicle, Joy Reid, and Brian Williams.

Pence, represented by Justice Department attorneys, on Thursday urged the court to reject Gohmert’s suit against him, arguing that his fight is with the House and Senate, not the vice president.
Pence has not indicated his own view of his power as the presiding officer on Jan. 6, and he hasn’t indicated whether he intends to introduce the unofficial elector slates that Trump allies claim to have cast in order to compete with the certified slates submitted in states like Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin and Georgia.
This unprincipled craven coward issued a statement on Saturday declaring his support for the “GOP Clown Car Coup” that would overturn a fair and free election and keep him and Donald Trump in the White House, despite losing in a landslide in the popular vote and electoral college vote. President Trump pleaded with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in a weekend phone call to “find” enough votes for the president to win the state, which Democrat Joseph R. Biden captured in the Nov. 3 election, according to an audio recording of the call.
“The people of Georgia are angry, the people in the country are angry,” Mr. Trump told Mr. Raffensperger, a Republican. “And there’s nothing wrong with saying, you know, um, that you’ve recalculated.”
