KATHMANDU: Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will address the nation at 3 PM on Monday, a day after recommending the dissolution of Parliament which was ratified by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, and announcing the date of election which will be held next year.
This comes after, PM Oli held a meeting with members of the House of Representatives which was dissolved by the President.

KATHMANDU: Nepal s President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on Sunday dissolved the House of Representatives as recommended by Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli earlier in the day, setting the stage for new elections in April-May next year.
The decision of Oli, who is faces protracted turmoil inside his Nepal Communist Party, without prior consultation, triggered protest from senior party leaders and seven cabinet ministers from the party have resigned.
The President, along with the approval to the government s recommendation, also declared fresh elections to be held in two rounds on April 30 and on May 10 next year.

KATHMANDU: Nepal will likely head to the polls next year after parliament was abruptly dissolved on Sunday, a move prompted by infighting between the Himalayan nation’s premier and members of his party, including former Maoist rebels.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s government has weathered accusations of corruption and criticism for its handling of the coronavirus pandemic. But his decision to request a new poll comes after months of clashes with Pushpa Kamal Dahal, a former insurgent leader who helped Oli come to power when their political parties merged in 2018.
The pair had clashed over their powersharing agreement and a lack of consultation. Fresh elections will be held in April and May next year, the office of President Bidhya Devi Bhandari said in a statement after she approved the dissolution. The decision plunges Nepal into months of fresh political uncertainty after years of instability.

Kathmandu: Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli on Monday said that the talks with India have progressed to resolve the existing problems. He held talks with members of House of Representatives which was dissolved by the President on Sunday. Yesterday, Nepal announced to hold national polls in April-May next year. Oli s recommendation to dissolve the Parliament was approved by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari without a delay. Oli also recommended conducting mid-term elections on April 30 and May 10 next year.

Kathmandu, Dec 21 : A day after the dissolution of the House of Representatives, Nepal s embattled Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli said the decision to dissolve the parliament was not taken abruptly.
Defending his move to dissolve the house which was later stamped by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, Oli said that due to the activities of some leaders within the party against the people s expectations and wishes, he was forced to dissolve the house after being picketed by party leaders.
