The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, yesterday blamed Nigerians for the decision of Twitter’s to locate its new African headquarters in Ghana over Nigeria.
He also noted that the decision was not based on commercial considerations, in view of the large market available in Nigeria.
This is even as ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, countered the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for lambasting the President Muhammadu Buhari’s adminstration over the decision of Twitter to cite the headquarters of its African operations in Ghana.

The All Progressives Congress has replied the opposition Peoples Democratic Party on the decision by Twitter to locate its Africa headquarters in Ghana, stating that Nigeria remains the biggest economy on the continent and an investment destination of choice.
The Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee of the APC, in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday, argued that there is no issue in Twitter ignoring Nigeria, noting that it is a private company that maintains an exclusive right to locate its business anywhere.
The statement issued by the National Secretary of the APC CECPC, Senator John Akpanudoedehe, was titled ‘APC: Nigeria as Africa’s biggest economy, remains a top investment destination.’
