Asian Development Bank issued the following announcement on Dec. 7.
Ministers and senior officials from the 11 member countries of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program have endorsed a new long-term strategy to promote safe, sustainable, and inclusive tourism development in the region, and enhance its attractiveness as a competitive tourism destination globally.
The CAREC Tourism Strategy 2030, presented at the 19th CAREC Ministerial Conference held virtually today, was endorsed by ministers and senior officials representing Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, the Peopleâs Republic of China (PRC), Georgia, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani of Afghanistan also attended the meeting.

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with Christopher Miller, U.S. acting Secretary of Defense at the Presidential Palace, late on Tuesday.
In the meeting that was also attended by First Vice-President Amrullah Saleh, both sides discussed the Afghan peace process, the current situation of Afghanistan and the region and to further support the Afghan security and defense forces.
Christopher Miller stressed on strengthening the strategic relationship between Afghanistan and the United States, said that United States stands with the Government and people of Afghanistan in the fight against terrorism.

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with a number of religious scholars during his visit to Kandahar province on Thursday afternoon, a statement from the presidential palace said.
Head of the Ulema of Kandahar thanked President Ghani for his continual support and said that, people of Afghanistan are Muslims and they have made many sacrifices for upholding Islamic teachings.
First Vice President Amrullah Saleh said, “The purpose of our visit to Kandahar is to meet the security and defense forces of Kandahar and hear from them on ensuring the security.” He added, “Defending the system and homeland is our shared duty.”

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani leading a high-ranking delegation paid an official visit to Kandahar on Thursday morning to review the general situation of that province, a presidential press office statement said.
President Ghani was welcomed by the local officials, elders and influential figures of Kandahar in Ahmad Shah Baba International Airport, according to the statement.
President Ghani that was accompanied by the first Vice President, Amrullah Saleh, NSA Hamdullah Mohib and a number of cabinet members, chaired a security meeting during his official visit to Kandahar to assess the security conditions of Kandahar and Uruzgan provinces.
