Thus said Secretary Martin Andanar of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) during his visit to Cebu on Tuesday, Jan. 19. Andanar led the PCOO’s #ExplainExplainExplain campaign, which focuses on explaining to the different localities government’s strategy on the use of Covid-19 vaccines. “We want to start it as soon as possible, especially in major cities with a high attack rate Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, Metro Davao, Cagayan de Oro,” Andanar said.

House passes bill protecting media workers

SunStar andanar21 January 19, 2021 MORE than 200 congressmen voted in favor of the passage of the proposed Media Workers Welfare Act, a bill that seeks to provide additional benefits and protection for media workers, in the House of Representatives. ACT-CIA Party-list Rep. Niña Taduran proposed bill aims to ensure that media workers shall, at the minimum, be paid the wages, allowances, and benefits provided by law to workers. Media workers shall be covered by the Social Security System, the Home Development Mutual Fund or the Pag-Ibig Fund, and the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. upon employment. Employers shall provide additional insurance coverage to media workers, including the death benefit of P200,000, disability benefit of P200,000, and medical insurance benefit of P100,000.

PCOO to lead dialogue between NGAs, LGUs in NegOr

DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Jan. 18 (PIA) The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) led by Sec. Martin Andanar will spearhead a conference between national government agencies (NGAs) and local government units (LGUs) here to discuss updates on the government’s response efforts amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Dubbed “Pagdu-aw sa sa Negros Oriental: Explain, Explain, Explain,” the dialogue is set on Jan. 22, 2021 at the Provincial Convention Center. The activity aims to tackle the local governments’ key initiatives as well as their best practices during the pandemic while providing a platform for national and local government agencies to discuss their policies in helping the communities in mitigating the impact of the pandemic.
