Federal Government said on Wednesday that recorded over $1 billion investment into the automotive industry in 2019.
The Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Mr Jelani Aliyu made the disclosure at the opening of the two-day investigative hearing into the financial budgetary approvals and multilateral donation on skills acquisition and related programs of the Federal Government and its agencies by House of Representatives Ad-hoc on the matter.
The committee is chaired by Hon. Victor Akinjo.
The committee had alleged that reports submitted to it indicated that contracts worth multi-billion naira awarded by various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for the training/skill acquisition programmes were implemented without Appropriation between 2011 and 2020.

Yenagoa, Feb. 27, 2021 The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) on Saturday said it would henceforth emphasise entrepreneurship programmes for ex-militants from the Niger Delta region who embraced the amnesty offer by the Federal Government.
The PAP said it has adopted a new model of empowerment that would transform beneficiaries into skilled entrepreneurs or employable citizens contributing meaningfully to the economy of the Niger Delta region.
The Interim Administrator of the PAP, retired Col. Milland Dikio, stated this in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Meotabase Egbe, described the model as end-to-end empowerment..
According to Dikio PAP, would partner organisations that are ready and capable of training its delegates, employing successful trainees and mentoring them to achieve post training proficiency.

PAP issues fraud alert, denies appointment of reps to N-Delta crisis-ridden communities

Presidential Amnesty Programme office has stated that it has not appointed representatives to any crisis-affected community in the Niger Delta region over the payment of stipends to ex-agitators.
The Interim Administrator, PAP, Col. Milland Dixon Dikio (retd) disclosed this in a statement he personally signed and released to newsmen in Port Harcourt.
Dikio regretted that some individuals were taken advantage of the delays experienced in the payment of amnesty stipends to visit communities in the region to defraud the beneficiaries.
Dikio said: “It has come to our notice that some elements are attempting to use the current situation of delay in payment of stipends to our delegate to defraud unsuspecting beneficiaries of their stipends in the name of representation.
