WASHINGTON (RNS) The chaplain to the U.S. House of Representatives chastised lawmakers during a prayer on Wednesday (March 10), asking God to “forgive them” for failing to unite around pandemic relief legislation.
Rear Adm. Margaret Grun Kibben, an ordained Presbyterian Church (USA) minister who assumed the role of House chaplain in January, included the criticism in her prayer as she opened the House session Wednesday, when lawmakers prepared for a final vote on President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package.

Two adjacent church buildings in West Highland have a new owner.
Paul Tamburello, the Denver developer who has become more known for his ice cream company in recent years, last week purchased the churches at 3401 W. 29th Ave. and 2945 N. Julian St.
The structures are separated by an alley.

“They’re just two really beautiful buildings that need to be preserved, and I think repurposed in the most creative way to be a community asset,” Tamburello told BusinessDen. “What that means is yet to be figured out, and a conversation with the community.”

LOUISVILLE â For the second time in two years, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has played a role in research by Abbott Labs that may lead to a vaccine for HIV/AIDS.
âItâs kind of remarkable,â said mission co-worker Larry Sthreshley from his office in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). âHow many studies are done where nothing significant is found? There have been two major findings from this research.â
