Supertunia, supercal and calibrachoa annuals are my favorite varieties to plant in hanging pots and planters. For years I’ve talked about how I love the Bubble Gum pink Supertunia and how three plants fill a large whiskey barrel to overflowing with bright pink flowers every year.
It seems every year Proven Winners is coming up with new varieties. One that I hope to be able to find this year is Supertunia Mini Vista Pink Star. It is said to be a little sister to Bubblegum Pink. It has a smaller flower head with striped pink and white blossoms.

Q: Can you help me figure out what’s causing damage to my lawn in the attached photo? My neighbor thinks the culprits are voles. If so, what is the treatment? Enrique G.
A: Your neighbor is right; the winding trails in the lawn are classic vole damage. Voles are short-tailed brown or grayish field mice. They don t run as fast as gray house mice, and they rarely, if ever, come indoors.
